basket weaving with bamboo?

HI
We have a large amount of bamboo growing on our lot.
I have been reading up on how to contain what we have and thought why not find a way to use it other then for fencing.
I know you can use it for making baskets but I am not having alot of luck in finding out how to prepare it to use for baskets anyone know what to do???
I've also collected a bunch of wisteria vines since we seem to have an abundance of it also.
