My hubby had an accident and we didn't get the onions dug. They are starting to grow. Can I leave them in the ground for next year?
Anyone ever done this??
I recently asked that question and I am told they can be overwintered, but I forget if that was in every zone.
Sometimes they will freeze out the ground, but often they will make it if cover with mulch. Note tho, that onions are biennials, so you will have to use them as green onions before they bloom out in the spring.
