Wireless connection

I have a belkin54 hooked up to my desktop and it works great, I turn my laptop on and it says I am connected and ready to go. But my browser won't open (IE) and neither will my outlook. Just on my laptop, It worked fine a month ago. I can't figure out what the problem is. I don't use the laptop often but it comes in handy when my grankids come over. I let them use the desk top and I use the laptop. My laptop is a Dell XPS. Can some one help please.
