Nubuck/suede sandals

I don't know if this is where I should ask this. I have several pairs of nubuck/suede sandals. I'm finding the suede does not feel good at all against my skin. It feels very rough. Is there anything I can do to soften the suede? I also have two pairs where one sandal is a little too tight - any suggestions?
