Can the flower of a canna be used as a cut flower in an arrangement or do they just not last long when cut?

Canna blooms will last one day as a cut flower.
They are GORGEOUS for a short term display.
Canna leaves, however, will last along time in an arrangement.
The variegateds and interesting dark leafs are very beautiful used in conjunction with longer lasting blooms.
