Portland, OR

Can anyone tell me how to make compost tea? Is this thread already started in DG? Sorry, I"m still a clutz when it comes to navigating this site... there is sooooo much information!!!

I bought the Soil Soup brewing system http://www.soilsoup.com It comes with a bucket and a pump to keep the mixture aerated, which supposedly helps the formation of the good bacteria you want rather than the bad smelly kind. You fill a fabric bag with worm castings, hang it in the bucket, fill with water, and add a little molasses (they call it "nutrient solution" or something like that, but it's basically molasses just more expensive). Then turn the pump on and let it brew until it gets foamy on top, this takes anywhere from 4-5 hours to overnight depending on how warm it is outside.

Dave's Garden has articles now! Here's one on making compost tea: http://davesgarden.com/guides/articles/view/46/

I just bought two aquarium air pumps, molasses and fine mesh laundry bags at Wally-world. Let the brewing begin!
