Someone asked me this question and I'm not sure how to reply to them. I asked them if this terrible stuff got on the bark of the tree and they said no, it was only in the branches. It isn't near the woods or other trees that are infested.
If you can help me, help them, I'd appreciate it.
Thank you.
Darrell
Question they asked is below:
We have plum trees with black knot .... not good! We have been trying to cut it out and burn the infected limbs. We are trying very hard to save the trees for they are heritage trees. Is there someway we could save them without chemicals?
We had nine plum trees and we had to cut 3 down. We now have two that we
have been trying to control for the last 3 years. So far it has not spread
to the other trees. But also, it has not rid the trees of this horrid
disease. We fear if we see no change in the trees that we are going to cut
them in the fall. The problem is getting no worse, but it is getting no
better and we would hate to loose all our trees!
