HELP HELP -- This morning I went out in the garden only to find that my Sweet Autumn Clematis beginning to bud had been chewed at the base by a critter. Severed some, but not all. I was sick. And still am. This has been happening this year constantly. I've had varioius clematis for years and never this problem.
Anyone else can share their experiences would surely be a help. I don't know how what to do. Hardware cloth has been suggested, ugly, but whatever works. I'm very unhappy. These vines are all glorious.
