Survey: Best Loved Cannas

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

I've been conducting a little survey to compile a list of the over all best loved cannas.
I have done this at several other of my forums and would appreciate input here, also.
I will publish that list when done.

I hope everyone here will list their favourite cannas for good input and an excellent list.
Thanks much :-)

Only one? Can't do it.....so far

Tropicanna Black
Ermine
Dawn Pink
Futuriy Pink

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

For the flower: Ermine, Pink Angel, Lucifer
For foliage: Bengal Tiger, Stuttgart

I find myself quite attracted to any dwarf, I wish there were a dark foliage dwarf, dark like Australia, but very short. Oh I would love it.

Hmmmm.........for foliage- intrigue
for flower it's a toss up between shining pink, ermine, and cleopatra.

Alice, I don't think we got yours :)

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

I don't have a favorite. If it flowers and has colorful foilage I like it. And if it grows in my yard then I love it.

Granite City, IL

New to me this year
Red Stripe

but my all time favorite is
Tropicanna

My favorite was my Pink Confetti. It died over the winter this year and I would love to find another one. No one seems to know anything about it or where it can be found. I purchased mine on Ebay, but the seller no longer has it.

Voss,
For small canna, I love Panache! Very delicate.

Yep, me, too!

Tropicanna
Lucifer

My favorite flower!

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

That Panache is quite lovely. Made me think about planting that w/ a plumeria with similar flower. ahhh!

I will hold off on this obsession until I find a dwarf super dark leaf canna.

Vossner look at this one Futurity Rose

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

well dang! I just got one Futurity rose in a trade w/ Tropicanna. Yipee, my canna world is complete (until the next hybridizer comes out w/ something I absolutely, positively have to have).

Dare I dream: A micro-mini canna, lol.

Tri-Cities, WA(Zone 7b)

My favorite one is whichever is in bloom. Stuttgart is beautiful, and although the flowers are on the small side, they are my wife's favorite for their color and proliferance.

Black Knight is an old favorite which never fails to impress, though I think it looks better planted with a green foliage type for contrast. In this regard, Cleopatra is certainly the all-in-one type, if you can keep the variegation stable.

Brian has come out with some beautiful multi-colored flowers and unusual foliage types as well.

I can find a reason for every canna to be special ... LOL
But here is my all time favs.
Alice

Tropical Sunrise
Tropical Sunset
Panache
Cleopatra
Pink Sunburst
Pretoria
Barbara Hallman

Rome, GA(Zone 7b)

'Princess Di' is my favorite.

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9b)

You know, that is quickly becoming my favorite, too. I just wish it's leaves weren't so boring.

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

I love Black Knight, and Wyoming, and Rosemond Coles....also I have a peach colored that I lost that was my all time favorite...no idea what the name of it was...here is the flower though....

Nice list Alice!

That is nice Janet, shame you don't have a name to go with it and a shame you lost it :( maybe someone will recognize it.

Ocoee (W. Orlando), FL(Zone 9b)

I'd love to see pics of the favorites!

Oh I just ordered an Ermine....that's a beautiful bloom!

Rankin, IL(Zone 5a)

I have to say of all the cannas I bought this year, Black Night just bloomed and is only about 24"tall and is the most beautiful red I think I have ever seen. I will take pics later today.

I loved all of my Stuttgarts last year, this year not a single one came up, no clue why.

Pass Christian, MS(Zone 8b)

My favorite, but lost the tag that told me which variety it was. I planted about 2 dozen cannas this year. Does only recognize it?
