Wvdaisy,
I mailed your birdhouse today. Confirmation #420250339104797798402023043579
Hope you like it. My dad made it. The bottom has three screws in it so you can take it off and clean it out at the end of the season. Enjoy! Rachel
Rachel,I checked the confirmation for the birdhouse I sent you and it says they attempted to deliver it today and if its unclaimed they will return it to me? It must be at your PO waiting for you.
I picked it up a couple of hours ago, I adore it! Thank you so much! I love anything that is handcrafted. I'm still trying to decide where to put it, it will either be in a place of honor on the garden shed, or the covered front porch. I love the bluebird and flowers on it. Here is a picture for everyone to see :0)
Whew I was worried there for a minute.LOL..You are very welcome.I am so happy you liked the birdhouse Rachel. It made my night knowing you were pleased : )

Hi Robynznest,
Your birdhouse is on the way! I had trouble finding a box to fit, so the box is a bit oversized.
It was made locally here in Vancouver. I hope you like it! :)

SunnyAZ your house is on the way.....0306 0320 0000 0973 1112
I had written a note of introduction to enclose with the parcel....promptly sealed it up without it.
I am Jackie Anderson of Thackerville Okla (very primitive) retired here 3 years now. Formerly from Dallas, TX...I am a big city girl adjusting to rural life and loveing it. I hope you enjoy your bird's new home.
Kathy...Many years ago I left my heart and the love of my life in Virginia
I am sure I will love it...Thanks,
Jackie .
Hi Jackie,
I'll be on the look out for your package.
I'm sure that the bird's and I will love it
My husband is 2 years away from retirement from the Air Force.
We are both originally from Idaho. Living somewhere rural sounds appealing to me.
What made you decide to move where you did?
SunnyAZ,
40 acres of dirt cheap ( $1000 pr acre) undeveloped, sorry Oklahoma land bought and paid out 23 years ago . We used it along with a 2 br modular home we purchased new on time for weekend and pleasure for the grandkids. It is only 80 miles north of the city where we worked for our living. When we decided to retire 3 years ago (with no benefits, only savings) we sold the large home we had raised our kids in and a small rent house my mom had left me. combined the monies and had enough cash to build a really nice country home. We were in the earth moving (mom and pop operation) business for years, so we kept a bulldozer a dump truck and a small landscape tractor. We built ponds and improved the scrubby land. My hubby is a hard working man who still likes to stay busy. We are in our mid 60s and healthy and active.
A casino and resort type area was built less than 5 miles from the 1/2 mile driveway into my home. Land values have soared and if we were inclined to ever sell ,this property would list at over 3/4 million. We will be here til we die but it will make a great inheritance to leave our 5 adult children.
Boy ! did I get carried away? Comes from living in the boonies with not a lot to talk to. Told you way more than you wanted to know. But....now you know why and how I am where I am today ;>)
Very interesting Jackie thanks for sharing. Sounds like your living on a little gem.
So, we're swapping locales now along with birdhouses? Very interesting. I have lived in coastal Mississippi all my life. I was raised in a rural area, but moved to the "city" when I married. Actually, I live right outside the city limits. We lived right on the bayou until Katrina took everything from us. I miss living there and watching the sun set on the bayou, the pelicans, egrets, and cranes walking or perching along the marshes, and the fish jumping in the water. But I just couldn't go back after Katrina. We now live about a mile north of our "old" place where we hope it is high and dry! Got my birdhouse from Susan51. It is lovely. I'll post a pic when I remember to bring my camera home from school. love to all.
Thanks, Susan51! I love the birdhouse.
love, julie
Missippi bayou, beautiful country, wonderful friendly people....I am sure you do miss it. It sounds like a great place to live. I was fortunate to visit a couple of years before Katrina. The wonderful old trees and old homes and I do remember the oppressive heat in the summertime. I am glad you are still at least close to where your home once was......Sry I rambled on so in your thread, guess I was just at a loney moment. I miss the city a little sometimes, just the people.
Julie, got the Wren house! Thanks so much! I don't have one and was actually checking them out when I purchased the Birdhouse for my trade....lol I have wrens trying to nest in all kinds of places here so maybe they will love the new house and go there instead of my grill and boxes in my garage. Fun trade, thanks so much for doing it!
Janet
Jackie, you can ramble on anytime! Very interesting and such a wonderful investment! I am thrilled for you and your family!
I have had wrens make a nest in the dirty shoes I left by the door overnight.
Makshi..Thank You Soooo Much.I just love the birdhouse you sent me.Actually its 2 birdhouses in 1.It is so cool and its absolutely huge!! lol .I am sure my birds will love it as much as I do.I am hoping maybe with this I will finallly get Chickadees to nest here again or possibly downy woodpeckers. Its perfectly sized for them too. Thanks Again Makshi : ))
Nancy
Hey, Makshi! We have the same taste! I almost bought one of those for JanetS, but I thought she'd like the wren house better. This is so cool! I love swapping birdhouses and stories with everyone. love, julie
Wrens always nested on my Daddy's shelves in his open carport. He loved them so much, he fed them peanuts and they were just so cute darting about trying to get them and "not be seen" lol he had a lot of fun with all of the creatures at his house!
Nancy You are so welcome. I am glad you like it.
Cute birdhouse. I can't wait for mine to arrive.

cool!
Jackie,
I'm so glad you like it. I saw the post you had of the tin roof house so when I saw the copper I thought that would be perfect! I love copper and tin things. And the way copper is these days, you could sell it a retire...lol
Take care and enjoy. I'm so excited that you have it. It's more fun seeing that than getting one - well, maybe not.
kathy
I enjoyed this thread so much! I wish it had been feasible for me to have participated but when this wedding came up I decided I had better focus everything on it. I have most of the silk flowers done, I'll see if I can't get a picture posted. You ladies have done a wonderful job of picking out some adorable birdhouses.
Pat
The bridemaid's flowers are not done, no bow yet etc but this picture was taken to send to the bride so she could see if I was on the right track for what she wanted. Doing lots of this work long distance is the pits! That's also the reason for the scale there, so she could judge the size of arrangements.
Pat
psychw2........nice job on your love offering
very pretty!
Jackie..... I got my package today. Later on I will get it put in my garden and then will post a pic. Very cute....thanks bunches.
Robin
thank you so much for the lovely bird house..I have lots of wrens and so this new house will please them in the spring...thanks again......
Didn't notice this thread 'til now, but have been in touch via d-mail w/my recipient.
Mailed yesterday 8/16 since PO was closed when I got there on the 15th!
These are all so nice!! I still feel bad that mine is so plain/generic.
Nan, the one I sent was plain and generic too....but it is a working bird house and it will grow very special once it becomes a "used" birdhouse! LOL So don't even think about it like that...we are providing "First time Homes" for some mighty special creatures! The one I received was not fancy, but very much appreciated! I can't wait to see it weathered and occupied!!!
I like the plainer ones best, actually.
I do too Sue! Isn't that funny. I love the way they winter and take on that "weathered" appearance, they seem to blend into the landscape. I have a few my Daddy built that he decorated with decals and paint etc. and of course they are special to me too, but when I find myself looking, it is usually at the plain, "country" ones that weather to that grey color...and look old...lol
NAN - my beautiful house arrived today! It's a rich cedar and smells soooo good. It's perfect and has the hooks so I'm ready to hand it today. It doesn't need ANY decorations! That would take away from the nature of it and the birds may not like that.....
Thank you so much and feel good about your choice. It's perfect for me. I prefer natural things and I thank you for taking time to make a pick one out knowing it was coming to ME. That's made it special too.
Kathy
Nice house and you are right the birds are going to love it.
