Whatever category or classification shingling might fall under the end is still the same. And as far as ends go, I'll sure be happy when this wall is finished. A combination of excitement and tedium, a smattering of confusion and bewilderment tossed in for effect, I have found this means of embellishing a wall to be very satisfying. Just like the chip carving, an absence of predetermined pattern/design also reduces the probability that someone could pick out an "error or mistake". One of the joys of retirement is the ability to sit around and try to think up new ways to "update" the homestead. Makes my DW wonder about my mental state at times.
