I've never planted potatoes before but I'd like to try some to harvest in the fall. Is it too late? I'm in zone 7a, central Maryland.
I can't believe I spelled "potato" wrong!

too late for fall pototoes?
You might get a few hills filled out, and for sure, a few small ones. Go for it, you have nothing to lose but a few seed potatoes.
Thanks, but it seems that all the catalogs are out of seed potatoes.
Any farmers markets or produce stands around where you can get some potatoes? Anything locally grown probably won't have been treated to keep it from sprouting and will work. I have quite a few small or damaged potatoes I throw in the compost bin or chicken pen that I would sell or give away if someone around here were looking for them.
My fall potatoes are planted and I don't have anywhere cool enough to store them until spring.
