Dave i belive its a Clitoria ternatea Vine Or Pea Vine Paul

(Zone 11)

Thanks Paul, I guess I have the double form of the pea vine.
It's hard to capture the dark indigo color of this bloom.

That is so pretty Dave.
I do think it is Clitoria ternatea Vine as well. I just received some seeds for a white, blue, pink and lavendar ones. Some doubles and some single. Love the color on this one!

Yep, it's clitoria ternatea Dave, the double blue is named "blue sails" I believe. At least that is the name of mine.

There is also a single blue and a white. Mommum, I hope you post a pic of yours when they bloom, the only pinks or lavenders in clitoria is the clitoria mariana which is hard to find and the one time I did, I could not get the seeds to germinate. :~(

Good luck to you!

Thanks for the replies,

Bea, those sound like a nice variety of seeds, I also hope you share some of your bloom pics with us.

Pudgy, thanks for giving me the actual name, I found it in the plant files and thats it for sure. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/55445/

I also have a similar lavender single called the Spurred Butterfly Pea.
(Centrosema virginianum). http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/2028/
Heres a pic of it...

I love the centrosema. I had the white at one time but it never seeded for me and was lost, now I just have the purple that you show. The carpenter bees really like them, they push that "nose" up out of their way and dive in. :~)
