Thank you SO much Eleanor! What a nice surprise. This birthday has been a tough one. I'm 49 this year. 30 didn't bother me. 40 didn't bother me. The prospect of 50...I'm not liking it. BUT your birthday wish brightened my day! Thank you so much! (I am sitting here with a big smile)

Al, I'll be scouring the web tonight to find where to buy it. When do you plant them? I have heard that dahlias are hard to grow. Is it true. I see we live in the same growing zone.

Al are they winter hardy or do you store the tubers for the winter?
They are dug up, need to be stored somewhere dry with a steady temperature of 40 - 50.

Happy belated! I was a day late for both yours and pirl's. I'm glad to hear you say you had a good b'day. You sounded a bit down on it yesterday. Numbers are only numbers. You may as well enjoy your special day because you get older anyway LOL.

Thanks so much Jan, I was a be down about it. But being 49 beats the alternative. I feel much better now. And thank you for your wish...I wish for the same thing. I also wish japanese beetles would all disappear from all of our gardens!!

Thanks Dave, it didn't turn out too bad at all. We made drinks, built a fire, threw our way to big for the pool float on the pool, floated, watched the fire, and laughed like school kids. It turned out to be a lot of fun.
