I toted my potted Cleo next door to show mother-in-law who has never seen one. Started to carry it back and... oops.
The stem isn't completely broken of course and I have pried it up. Is there any hope she'll continue to flower? Or am I better off putting the stem in a vase of water?
Poor Cleo... :-(
I snapped my Cleo's flower stem - any hope?
I would put it into water...it should send up more shoots, they multiply pretty quickly and normally have more than one eye on a root.
Thanks, Janet. I put the flowering stalk in a vase with some floral preserver solution. I hope it continues to open because there must be 6 buds there.
Also, appreciate your tip that the plant is likely to send up more shoots. Will keep my fingers crossed. If not this year -- well, there's always next

Use the stem in a vase...Janet's correct....
It will send up shoots all summer, as long as your weather stays warm, and the roots stay moist ( I have mine growing in a water bucket and it's doing better than it ever did in the ground!)
