In NC, I had lush sweeps of dutch iris, but here in SE OH they are feebile.
I have tried planting them in the Spring and Fall, from Walmart to high end bulb suppliers.
The first year or two they do well and then fade away.
Note: they don't seem to rapidly disappear or I would suspect critters.
Any ideas?
I do use amended soil: 1/3 composted manure, 1/3 clay, 1/3 humus.
