Is this a weed?

Hello Everyone,
I am new to gardening and am not quite sure if this is a weed or not. It grew really fast and I don't remember planting anything like it.

Has it bloomed? Weed or not weed can be pretty subjective since of course many plants are considered weeds in one part of the world and desirable in others. If you don't like it, and it grows fast, it's a weed! :P

Not all weedy plants are invasive.

Question for you. Is the plant blooming white here and there or is that a white foamy substance I am seeing?

If the plant blooms a light purple, I think I know what it is and it is an invasive species but those white bloom looking things are throwing me off.

It looks like what I had, a member of the Erigeron family. Fleabane is the common name.

terryr, is this what you're thinking-

I don’t know why, but I look at those leaves and I think Adenophora Lilifolia.

Is my post I had. I'm sorry, but once I felt it had an ID, I deleted the pics. The leaves looked just like the first photo above.

Forgot to add......if you look at the post of mine, you'll see my plant had white flowers, not pink. The bottom leaves were toothy and the above ones, newer ones I'd call them, didn't have the toothiness to the degree of the bottom ones.

The white you are seeing on these plants is white spit.......spittlebugs is what they call them here. The flowers are not out yet but if I remember correctly from last year they are a light purple. Someone suggested they might be Lady Bells or Hell's Bells and are rather invasive and nearly impossible to get rid of. They are very hard to weed, they leave behind numerous white roots. I notice they are popping up all over the garden. A cold and rainy spring must be to their liking.

Here is a picture of what it might be http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/575/

I got sort of close. I'm thinking who ever said you had Adenophora confusa is either right on the money or really close. Regardless of which Adenophora you have, probably not a plant you'd want to get away from you.

I took Dave's suggestion re: his video on dealing with weeds and purchased for lack of a better word, a weed killer flame thrower. Works great, best way to fight troublesome weeds I have come across. I torched all the Lady Bell or Hell's Bells trouble makers and so far so good there is no sign of them coming back. Mind you it has only been 3 days........wish me luck.

I love my Weed Dragon! Good for you!
