We purchased this orchid one year ago. The seller (an orchid outlet) said that it would go through blooming and dormant cycles of about 3 months each. And, he advised cutting back the stem when it stopped blooming.
One side stopped blooming a few months later and we cut it back to just above a joint. The other stem has never stopped blooming for a whole year! But, the stem we cut back has never sprouted another growth??
genemike, that is a beautiful phal. It is hard to beat the lasting power of some phals, they can be like the Energizer Bunny.
