Sorry I don't have a picture - but maybe you have had experience with this - wrapped around the stem of a young delphinium plant was an orange stemmed vine(?) It didn't have any leaves, but it coiled itself around this plant much like a morning glory would. The stem was very fine - much like thread of the weight used for coat buttons. my first response was that it must be some kind of fungus or algae. It appeared to be very shallowly rooted with the roots being the only green part.
Whatever it was, it was coiled in many, many tight loops around the stem. and it was bright orange. Any guesses?
The strangler . . .
How close are you to Boston??
Victor! Even people in BC have heard of the Boston Strangler!
Sorry. Actually I have never seen that. Try to get a pic.
Of weedy vines that do that - Field Bindweed is common. I can't say without a pic though.
Rats - I threw it in the trash. I will look up field bindweed and see it that is it.
