The last thread was wonderful with so many beautiful and unique blooms. I can't believe how long it got and how quickly! Please keep sharing your passion, humor and your wisdom with us. One zone away can make all the difference in what you can grow but I can not, so thank you for letting me into your world.
May this month bring you:
Friendship,
gentle rains,
warm sunshine,
and rich black soil
for your plants to thrive in.
Celeste
Whats blooming today? #4
Thanks Celeste. You and your fellow Maine residents are doing pretty well for being zone challenged!! I have to say, I have noticed the quality of the photos getting better and better!
Thank you Celeste, how sweet! Same for you.
There is something about Al that is mature?! No really, very nice.
Thanks Celeste.
Yes, Dave. His Hosta is mature.
He must have gotten it from Pirl.
Asarina - Creeping Gloxinia 'Joan Lorraine'
Asarina scandens

Kassia, Is it an annual for us?
off to a good start that's for sure .. nice photos everyone!.... and thank you Celeste... the same wishes right back at ya!
Thanks, Celeste.
Dave47 - Al's hosta didn't come from me but I do have some so mature they could collect SS.
Dave it's a annual I think... I am going to pot and bring inside... I did that once with a morning glory... and it worked...the small pot really kept the size to a manageable mess!!!
And this one MIGHT be "Nerone" as I do own it and was moving bulbs around last fall.
Great pics all!! The lillies are outdoing themselves. Al, my Casa Blancas are only thinking about blooming, they probably have another 2 weeks to fruition. So much for zones. Lovely Brug Alice. I had one that got so big after a few years, that I gave it up to the Gods of winter cause my back couldn't handle carrying in and out of the house anymore. Pixie, your callas are beautiful!
great pictures today... EVERYONE!... thanks for sharing
Pixie, you have some VERY beautiful blooms already!
I just noticed you are in South China. Isn't that up next to West Peru? How is it I can live in Southern Maine (which I THOUGHT would be warmer?) and not have a single lily open and only Stella Daylily right now? I just don't get it *lol*....zone envy in my own state even *lol*
Stunning photos :)
Do you grow Calla's outside and leave them there during our wintas?
My newbieness is showing isn't it *lol*.....I think I'm always going to be a newbie as I'm always learning new things daily *lol*
Hey Kim, the day one of is not a newbie at something is the day we're six feet under (or should be) But don't leave your Callas out in the winta. My SO says noth, he gets the stare from me. "It's noRth. You do not live in Boston!!" He just laughs and then so do I. Life is good.
I work for a bank and the Loan Officer called from Lowell Mass the other day. While we were on the phone he says "Kim you are really from Maine". I said "what do you mean by that"? He said "you should hear your accent on this end of the phone"....so I said...."well you should here your accent on this end" .... *lol*.....gotta luv it!
