Thanks for the ID help.
As of now No. 3,6,7,8,9,10 are solved, 1,2,4&5 remain to be ID'd

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

#1 looks nearly the same as one I got today, Ischnura elegans Blue-taile Damselfly, except it only has one band on the tail.

http://www.gardensafari.net/english/picpages/ischnura_elegans.htm

I searched for Ischnura and found I. verticalis, but this one appears to have green eyes and a different tail pattern.

The one you mention has stripes around the abdomen, a female on this link

Thanks wallaby,

after a bit further searching No.1 could be a Skimming Bluet (Enallagma geminatum) http://www.wisconsinbutterflies.org/damselflies/species/35
So many different bluets, I guess it will be close to impossible to positively ID with just a shot from above :)

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7b)

#5 looks like a Clouded Plant Bug - I've just found them in my garden.

#4 looks like a Stenotus binotatus Plant Bug

Panamon, there are many similar Damselflies, it can be difficult but the pattern on the tail is clear, if that can be found and the rest looks to match you might be lucky!

Take a look at the pics of Argia species at the bottom of the page, many are also similar.

http://insects.ummz.lsa.umich.edu/Images/Odonata/Odo_picts.html

I found the Int. Odonata Soc., this page gives google links to many species if you look under COENAGRIONIDAE

http://www.iodonata.net/

If the link goes to the home page, click on 'species list' at the left side, then the 3rd link down, North American Zygoptera.

Panamon, I am still so struck by the similarity to my Ischnura! So much that I took a look at some of the Ischnura images, and found one which is a close match but is a side view.

The tail markings are very similar, with a double blue band joined at the top, with a protrusion on the uppermost band of the two. Looking at the other blue parts at the top of the abdomen they do seem to be in the right places, although the pic is not the best to go on.

The black legs are also a match, many have more yellow legs with a black stripe. Try putting the images side by side.

I found a pic that shows the top a little more, although the end of the tail pattern looks to be glaring from a flash. I'm trying to see those thinner blue stripes on the thorax at the top which yours show, not sure if it's the angle but most of them seem to have them!

Thanks for the IDs Linda.

wallaby, "damsel/dragonflyonators" must have their work cut out and must have many disagreements on IDs between themselfs :)

Next time I'll get shots from several different angles if the bugger allows me to do that :)

I'll mark this thread as solved now.
Until next time when I go on bug hunt with my Macro lens mounted :)

Celaya, Mexico(Zone 10a)

Maybe I'll find some more aliens too :)
