Tiller, OR(Zone 8a)

Black-headed. The Rose-breasted has just a triangle of rose at the breast, and a white tummy. They are rare in the west.

I spoke to soon.........the juvies are similiar, but rose still rare in the west.
Rose has pink underwing.

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

Clean orange flanks with no streaking, is Black-headed. Juvenile Rose-breasted has dark streaks on the flanks.

Otherwise, there's always the option of calling it Rose-headed, or Black-breasted ;-)

Thanks Tiger and Resin. I thought it was probably a young Black- headed, but one can always hope (I hope).
