Closer view of one pine with seriously exposed roots, and the remains of the oak we had to take down before it fell on the house.
As you can see, the ledge and area below are a mess: aside from a few volunteer trees (mostly hemlocks and poplars), it's a jungle of weeds and major poison oak infestation. It also sits right on a road where people zip around a blind curve at 45 mph or more. For obvious reasons, I'd rather attack the erosion issue from the top, at least at first. Any suggestions on how to slow the erosion with plantings would be really welcome and appreciated: thanks to all in advance.
Edited to add that I'd prefer to use native plants if possible/practical.
