I have always been fascinated by the miniature section of show arrangements. It is a challenge to find both containers and plants to create an acceptable arrangement within the size limits. Depending upon the show, the arrangement may be anywhere from 3 inches to 7 inches in any one direction. I am always on the lookout for sake cups, perfume bottles, any thing with the right size and proportions.

Turtle do you have photos or links to such events or examples? I didn't even know there were 'miniature' shows. One can get lost in the awe of a big bouquet, but I bet the level of fascination and enjoyment is equal on a small scale. I'd like to see photos.
Most big shows have a minis class. Of course if folk don't enter that one gets pulled. There are two miniature arrangements on the UK pages linked in the asters thread. One had muscari and I forget what the other had. There is very little to see on line. If you put in miniature flower arrangement , you get lots of doll house artificial stuff. Grrr.
If you check your library, you might find Wilson's book or the subject. There are a couple of others floating around out there but not much in print now. There is also a Ikebana (sp) artist who specialises in miniature arrangements. I have run into her work on line now and then.
I will try to dig out my books and see if I can scan some pages to post.

I too like the miniature arrangments. When I was entering flowers in our county fair, I always had an arr. in the mini division. and I too have quite a collection of things to use for containers for mini designs.

When I was looking for some small "things" to put mini violets in I went to Salvation Army and Goodwill. They had several items I could use. Elaine
Oh, yeah. I love looking at thrift stores and flea markets. And the things that just fall into your hands. My son made a pinch pot and glazed it a grey white. It is thick and rather chunky, but I love the texture. I have not figured out the mechanics for it yet. Tiny, shallow bowls are the worst to secure stuff in.
