Things are looking bad around here...

So - we've had one decent rain this month. Only one. A lot of the folks are selling their cows because their pastures are gone. The gal at the Extension office is betting that there won't be a second cut of hay - people have already started using their hay to feed, hay that was supposed to get us through next winter.

I'm starting to see a lot of ads like this one:

3 month old filly quarter horse, beautiful blue eyes, strawberry roan $250.00

1 year old spotted saddle horse colt $275.00

1 year old bay saddle filly $275.00

I have no pasture they need good homes, obo applies or will consider trades for ???????????

You can get any number of horses here for $700 and under. Someone saw a two year old Palomino go at the auction for $85. I don't know anything about that horse, but that is pretty unusual. This is gonna be a very rough winter if something doesn't give....
