We are going to Edisto the week of the 4th. Is this a good time to visit Middleton place?

Actually, ANY time is a good time to visit Middleton Place! I personally think it's at it's most spectacular in the spring, when thousands of old azaleas are in bloom, but there's so much going on there all year long...

They have a great nursery now, under the shady old oaks.
Oh goody! I'll camping and I can load that camper up if I want to. :)
I would estimate 70-80% of the Middleton grounds are shaded. Still hot, though. And humid!
I was watching weather last night. looks like a cold front coming in 89 degrees monday and tuesday. And some rain. YEA!
