What kind of clematis is Harlow Carr?

I can find plenty of descriptions of it online, but nothing as far as what group it is in or info like that. I also know that it is not twining, so what's the best way for it to grow, staked and tied to a trellis or free roaming? Please post pics if you have any. Thanks!
