I just dug up and tossed a Hosata Wide Brim that was infected. I knew that the leaves looked different this year, puckered in spots and with a different pattern to the varigation. I pulled a leaf off , googled Hosta virus, and there it was. This was in a plant that I had purchased at Wal Mart. I'll be watching the others carefully from now on.
Evidently the virus can infect the plant for some time before the symptoms appear. Drat, it was in one of the quick growers too. It had already begun to clump up.
