Not your funeral glads

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

It was an exaggeration to plant 75 bulbs of Mon Amour, but today when I fixed this bouquet, it didn't seem like such a terrible mistake. This is their third year blooming. The two dark ones in back are the most beautiful raspberry color. They are BB glads, but can't remember right now.

There will not be a huge raspberry bouquet--I only bought 10 of those, lol.

Mon Amour is one of my favourites, and that is a spectacular bouquet!

Forget about Glads being funeral flowers ... we just had my Dad's funeral and I had all the flowers delivered to my house. I have 8 vases filled with beautiful flowers. Not a one is a Gladiola! There are daisies, roses, lots of lilies, carnations, delphiniums, mums, dahlias.
My favorite is a green spider Dahlia ... I NEED to find this one!

Finally today I spent a good part of the day in the garden. Planted 12 clematis. :o)
My Glads are all about a foot high and I'm hoping for a ton of blooms!

toofew, sad about your Dad. I hope that from above he's smiling a little, seeing that his passing can, to some extent, be associated with the beauty of flowers. It is my wish that as time goes by, happy memories of your Dad will overshadow his leaving this world.

Mon Amour, my love, oh voss you did get a lot of those! I imagine it was worth it, they are so delicate.

Sad to hear about anyone's passing, oh heck, I decided this morning that there are so many lovely flowers and insects that I will stay on this planet for that reason! It might just have to be in spirit, watch out for the friendly poltergeist!
