National Pickling Cucumber

Bethelridge, KY(Zone 6a)

Mine are just starting to blossom after 3 weeks from setting out. Anyone else growing these? I've also got Straight 8 and Calypso growing too but neither of these is blossoming yet.

Last year those were one of only 2 that did well for me. Don't know why I didn't plant them this year, as they were really good!

Ok - so now I'm jealous!

Sequee,

They're still blossoming good but so far only male blossoms. It can't be too long now though!

Sequee, it's not too late, unless you've run out of room for more plantings. Plenty of time to plant cukes, even in NYS.

Oh, I planted cukes, just not those. I've got Japanese Climbing, Poona Kheera (the other one that did well last year), Miniature White, Chelsea Prize and Spacemaster. Should be enough for one person. LOL!

Naturally I had to try General Lee.

Looks good Farmer! How many plants do you raise in each ring?

Actually I plant in a row with plants about 4 inches apart. Don't have a lot only about 15 feet of row . Use tomato cages to hold them up. This year just the Generals, which were the earliest, Improved White Spine and Straight Nine have not started producing yet.
