cat's claw vine

PLEASE- does anyone know how to kill this highly invasive vine(cat's claw ) which is wrapping and covering my mother's 70 year old heirloom english garden in north Florida. This is the worst weed I have ever encountered! From what I read it is a major problem in many areas of the country.
