Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday-June 1st -12th, 2007
Below are the types of items that will be tax-free:
Flashlights and other portable, self-powered light sources — $20 or less
Portable radios, two-way radios and weather-band radios — $75 or less
Tarps — $50 or less
Gas or diesel fuel containers — $25 or less
Batteries — $30 or less (AAA, AA, C and D cell, and 6 and 9 volt batteries)
Cell phone batteries — $60 or less; and any cell phone chargers — $40 or less
Non-electrical food storage coolers — $30 or less
Portable generators — $1,000 or less*
Carbon monoxide detectors — $75 or less
Storm shutter devices - $200 or less
* Safety First: Please do not use generators indoors!
Just so you know, Although I know the news folks will beat us to death with it.
Things I think ought to be on there and I don't see are;
Propane tanks and refills
Cases of unchilled beer

What!!!???? Plants won't be tax free??? ....and of course the beer or wine! Those are "must haves". Thank you for the update Sidney--I do need to do some "stocking up" of supplies.
