Name this Clematis

Shepherd, TX(Zone 8b)

It's a crummy photo, but I wanted to get a shot of it before the flower disintegrated. It was the only one like it on the shelf at Lowe's, so I snagged it. The five main petals are deep purple, with all the spiked petals in the center being a few shades lighter. The label says it's an "H. F. Clematis" (whatever that means), and doesn't look a thing like what is pictured.

Multi blue perhaps?
http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/56232/index.html Mine bloomed this year but looked a tad more purple then blue. Yours is a vivid blue and LOVELY!

I posted on the Clematis forum, and we agreed it's Multi blue. I planted it out on my trellis and hope it puts on a show for me!

Here is my Multi Blue (or Double Blue). This was the first bloom of the season.

Mine looks just like that! It has a new bud growing...I should see it bloom by the end of the week if nothing munches out on it.

When the vine is young you just get these single flowers. After a couple years it matures and starts producing double flowers. I'm still waiting on mine.

:-( What if I don't want the doubles, but like it just the way it is?? Oh, well...LOL

Sorry...but the doubles are breathtaking!
