I MUST have this clematis, but cannot find a source in the US. Chalk Hill had it, but won't have it again until 2009. Does anyone know of a source selling Omoshiro? I think it is one of the most lovely plants I've ever seen (sigh).
Omoshiro ???
Irishbelle, I searched for an hour last night after I read your post. It is a must have for me now too! Thanks! LOL I figured two looking is better than one. I'll keep you posted on the hunt. These clematis are so addicting.
Arlene
Arlene,
Thanks so much! I have been trying to figure out what I'd have to do to bribe one of my colleagues who travels frequently to Hong Kong to bring one back for me. Sadly, I know nothing of the agricultural transport restrictions. It would probably be too much to ask :-(
I agree, clematis, and plants in general, are the best addiction. I currently have a famlily of 30 clems and growing. Thank God for DG where all we plantaholics can commune with eachother and our addiction in peace and with understanding :-)

I have been after that one too. Please let us know if you locate it. It is good to be around people who understand your need for " just one more clematis"
I don't know if that beauty is in the States yet, but watch out when it finally arrives! Nurseries will be sold out before you can blink your eyes!
Have you tried?

I have never ordered them from here but it might be worth a try
Good luck
The website says,
"To our great regret, due to recent changes in U.S department of Agriculture regulations, we can no longer ship potted plants to our American customers."

Update: Chalk Hill says they will have more in 2008 per a phone conversation I had with them right after you posted Irishbelle.
Arlene
Arlene: That's good to know that Chalk Hill Clematis Nursery will be carrying a good supply of them, but don't wait to long because these beauties won't last forever!
I am so sorry about my recommendation!
I didnt realize they dont ship here anymore. : (
Ps. I asked and this is what I got from them!
Thanks for your e-mail. Due to changes to American Department of
Agriculture and Canadian Food Inspection Agency regulations, we can
no longer ship potted plants the the US. We can still ship bulbs and
seeds, and some bare root perennials. Please check the website at the
bottom of the "Shipping Info" page for more information about
shipping and phytosanitary costs to the US.

Happy gardening,
Arlene
But Arlene..will they be delivering now or wait until fall?TIA..Jeanne
Jeanne, I'm not sure, their website says shipping to some states till July. Wait and see I guess. I ordered because I didn't want to miss out on it again.
Arlene
Thanks to Arlene's excellent sleuthing, I ordered two Omoshiro and one Põhjanael. I don't know when it will ship -- have to call them later. I am so happy. Three cheers for Arlene . . . Hip Hip Hooray!!!
