Clemitis plants in the dormant stage from the box you buy them in.

Sorry about that guess since I was in the Clematis forum I thought all would know what I was talking about.

I figured it was Clematis but was unsure as to whether it was seeds or not. How did they look when you took them out of the box? and what variety are they? I have had bad luck with the boxed ones, as they had dried out..people at the stores just don't usually ,take very good care of them...they are babies and they need a lot of care!

Lavina..if you are talking about bareroots..they should be planted in a small pot and stay in there until the roots start coming out of the bottom of the pot..it's imperative that you keep the roots moist....Once the plant roots are coming out of the bottom of the pot you can plant into your garden...I don't "do" bareroots because I am too impatient and don't wanna wait for 4 years to have a mature clematis...Jeanne

well I put 3 to a big pot, guess I have learned a lesson on that.

Planting inst. just said to keep wet in pot with dirt.
