Cardinals are attacking the windows in my house! What is wrong with these crazy birds? They spend all day pecking at the windows. It is actually a little un-nerving!
The Cardinals are rampaging
It has seen its reflection in the glass, and thinks it is trying to get rid of an intruder in its territory. Not much you can do other than wait for the territorial urge to die down at the end of the breeding season. A silhouette of a bird of prey stuck to the glass can help discourage it.

That's pretty funny. This morning one woke up my 16 year old son (believe me, it was not a pretty sight). He also suspected they might be seeing themselves in the window. He was planning on putting up a cat picture. A bird of prey might even be better. There are about 3 cardinals that are doing this. One on each side of the house! The hormones must be raging.
Usually I'm wishing I had Cardinals . . . hmmmmmmmm . . . may have to rethink that! (Not true - I'd still just love to have them!)
