pest of the day

Seward, NE

Can anyone i.d. this bug... it's eating my radish and beet leaves. I think it also took out my alyssum. It's about the size of a tick and eats tiny holes in the leaves.

thanks,
Di

it looks like a vine weevil. the biggest damage they cause is root damage from their larva eating plant roots.expecially potted plants.beneficial nemetodes is all i know of to kill the larva.

I don't think it's a vine weevil because it is only 1/8" long by about 1/16" wide. It doesn't eat just the edges of the leaf, but rather the entire surface (see photo of leaves - the pink circle in the upper left corner of the image highlights one of the bugs).

I know this is an old thread, but I'm having this problem as well, with my radish leaves. It appears to be the same thing that got my mustard green and arugula seedlings. Can anyone identify, and suggest a fix?

The damage looks like flea beetles, but the weevil is throwing me.

radishes usually get flea beetles. the weevil was posted by another person. the only thing i've used for flea beetles in the past is sevin.
