Clematis Firecracker

(Zone 4a)

A friend gave me this two years ago.

I counted 35 blooms.

That one is on my "Gotta Get" list. Yours is beautiful!

Very very nice. But do you mean Fireworks? My F is still quite young, potted in a gallon pot, but came up nicely with many stems and I am quite sure I will have to put her in a biggger pot or the ground and cut back by half when the bloom cycle ends.

She did bloom a little last year, so I know that this Roseville 4 inch pot one wasn't mislabeled like a "Ruutel" that I got 2 years ago and turned out pale pink. This year I am going to try to ID it better, but I have it narrowed down to Snow Queen, Rosa Konigskind, or Hagley Hybrid.

Goldfinch, thanks for your compliment.

I think an abundance of water helped!

Eden, the plant is "Firecracker".

Your "Fireworks" is beautiful, too.

Jeanne,

Clematis Ascotiensis has blue flowers. C. Firecracker has pink.

Common names can be very confusing and misleading.

That is so true..I looked at COTW and couldn't find a clematis called Firecracker...Jeanne
