Can these be cut/trimmed while the root is still forming, or will it cause growth issues? Those beauties sure look good enough to eat, but I don't want to harm the root.
I am growing Nabo de Santiago, 7-Tops, and Purple Top.
Thanks for any insight you can offfer!
Turnip Greens
Seven top you can cut anytime the leaf is big enoght to justify the efforts, roots are not edible anyway. Purple Top/White Globe pretty much the same. never saw them cut enoght to hamper root development. Of course I am growing them when it cools off in the fall. The roots don't develop well in hot weather. Never heard of the other one.
Sequee
do you grow any mustard greens or Chard?
Never tried Mustard Greens, but I've got 3 Chards growing as we speak. (I grow those year 'round as they do well in a wide shallow container on the window sills.)
i do to plus kale in the winter
Haven't tried Kale yet! I have the seeds, but haven't gotten around to it yet!
