Hi everyone
I am growing very healthy elephant garlic this year. They were planted in October and I hope to harvest them at the end of July. Thing is...they have produced the most amazing flower heads. Is this a good thing for the bulb production or should I take them off ? Just wondering if they will sap the plant of energy for bulbing up....any offers of advice would help.

Elephant Garlic
I know for hardneck garlic, you cut the buds off, but since elephant garlic is really a leak, I don't know. I'd be interested to know, also, as I have a few cloves of elephant garlic in with my regular garlic. (Since I don't recall which garlics are which without consulting my planting chart, I am cutting the flower buts off all my garlic).
You are probably doing the right thing...just be interesting to know if anyone else does this.
