New Rhododendron

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

This is the new Rhododendron that I got this week. It is a beautiful pink lilac large leaf one. I really love the feel of the leaves and the color of the blosoms.

And it looks very healthy from the photo. It is so strange to still see any blooming in June though, when the blooming season here in the south has come and gone but you guys further north still have some blooming. I guess it works in reverse too... some of our shrubs bloom early, at a time when some people's gardens are still covered with snow!

Yes, I get so excited when I hear others have blooms and veggies. because I know it is comming here soon. It is very healthy and pretty also.

It looks like a hybrid called Roseum Elegans, or Roseum Superbum, or English Roseum. All variations of the same clone. it usually blooms about June 1st for me in zone 6
