Could you "eat" within 100 miles of where you live?

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

We are trying - trying mind you - to begin to eat totally locally. It's tough :)

Found a site: http://100milediet.org/category/about/#2

They talk about it and no, me and DH, Michael, do not endorse everything they do. But we are going to attempt to eat much more locally. This will take a lot of planning.

Here are a few of the things we would have to go without til we figure out how to replace the "flavors" and certain proteins we have grown accustomed to:

What things would you have to cut out?

Salmon
Tea
Spices - yikes - no cinnamon or cumin or, well, you get it ;)
Coke - the drinking kind ;O
Bananas
Oranges - basically any citrus :(

The list of have-nots is endless.

The list of haves is ok - we can get local beef, lamb, pork, wheat, some other grains, certain fish and shellfish where we feel comfortable, eggs, dairy,
rabbit, herbs of all kinds, all the veggies we grow, local fruit produce.

How would we get any caffeine products? Oh my!!!

Any thoughts on if you could do this at least on a challenge basis? Thanks for any input :)
