Impatiens - adjusting to sunlight

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

I have grown about 160 impatiens from seeds. They are just now forming their second set of true leaves and are potted into individual paper pots. They are very happy on my east facing covered veranda.

I need to know if it is safe to slowly introduce them to direct sunlight. The plants will be in gardens that get direct morning light.

I have planted impatiens there before - and they thrive. It's just that I have not grown them from seeds before, and I don't want to blow it. :-)

I would grow them out a bit right where they are, then pinch them back once and then, when you see some growth after that, you can put them in the bed. They will be fine.
You could just let them grow out a bit more and not pinch them back and plant them soon, but they will take longer to fill out the bed, but you will be planting them sooner. The more sun they get, the branchier they get.

Thanks Tigerlily.
