I see some really stunning foliage on cannas that would make a great center piece for some front entry containers. Will they do OK getting only a few hours of morining sun? (Willing to live with out blooms - but want the foliage to hold up!)
Canna in shade container
Cannas can be planted about anywhere! I have left rhizomes for dead in deep shade and total neglect-not only did they live, they are back this year! I know Phaison Tropicanna actually looks better in part sun-IMHO anyway. But you are right, you may not get flowers and the plants might not get as tall-but they will sure live. :)
Thanks! Then it's a done deal for this summer's containers!
I am hoping to find some bengal tigers to put into a container. I have a perfect part shade area I need them in. I have some in my flower beds but they have not grown enough to divide. Are they really slow growers or is it something I am not doing for them?
