Rhoicissus tridentata

Scott Bar, CA(Zone 6a)

This is a relatively new addition to my group of caudiciform plants. The common names include Bitter Grape and Bushman's Grape. A google search gives some medical properties and little more. I'm sure there are books on the subject of caudiciforms and their care or perhaps a site for this species but I have not been able to find either. If anyone out there can give me a direction I would certainly appreciate it! :o)

Nice plant! is the caudex in 2 parts? And roots extending from the where the leaves are? Very interesting. where does it come from?

There are actually four tubers and the plant is being gradually raised for effect. I will probably leave it at this level for quite a while to allow the tubers to groow larger. The roots on the sides were probably from seedling level. The plant comes from South Africa.

Thanks. Very nice, and quite unusual.
