Okay, I have this Iris and I cannot ID it..but that is okay.

Okay, upon more research...lol I actually found the one I have. I was told last year it was most likely Siberian...but after looking at the LA Iris I actually found the one I have been searching for...going on a year...after I found out it was not Japanese..LOL Here is a picture of the flower I have and the link to the one I believe it to be....http://ausgarden.com/v/vermin/irises/100_2142.JPG.html

For future reference, those "bumblebee stripes" on your rhizomes are characteristic of LA irises.

Thanks Laurie!! I thought that somewhere last year I had read something about that here, that is why I looked into the LA Iris and how I found it.

When I posted it last year I did not have the roots out of the ground, and it was very hard to decide just based on the flower, I assume. I am just happy to have found it.
