Iris season has started for me

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I have my first iris (except the reticulated ones) It is a Standard Dwarf Bearded Iris
Cultivar: 'Snow Tree' from SNOWPEAK IRIS that was PLANTED IN 2006. Others coming tomorrow. Patti

Snow Tree is one of my favorites. Your baby looks like it suffered a bit of freeze damage (or perhaps herbicide poisoning). I expect I'll see a lot of such damage as my bloom season progresses.

Laurief, No herbicides, must be frost or the dogs. I will check with the other ones that have opened. It is planted along a stone path that the dogs race up and down and they often stray though that bed, so I am not surprised about damage. They wiped out some tulips planted there last week. We have had a few cold nights recently and lots of wind. But it is still lovely and a nice sign of things to come. Patti
