The tall bearded irises are winding down now... here are a few pics of mine

This one is my favorite.

Unfortunately, I don't know the names of many of these.

I think Clarence is in there. I plant mostly rebloomers, although few actually rebloom.

I think this one is Cinco de Mayo. It's very pretty and ruffly.

This might be Beverly Sills, but I'm not completely sure. I'm much better remembering the names of the daylilies!

And here's a nice bright yellow. This one really screams.

I wish I could remember the names of these. I bought them from Schreiners in the last 3 yrs. so I could probably look them up in their catalogue.

What a lovely garden you have. My iris are winding down too. They never stay long enough, do they?

Mooresville, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks, doss. I wish they lasted longer. I've really only bought TBs that were sold as rebloomers, but I've only had one or two rebloom ever. Not sure why.

They very often don't bloom in colder climates.

Beautiful iris, ivory. Beautiful landscape.

I have had only one rebloom, but my climate is probably colder than yours ( 5), but I recently attended the AIS convention and some of the people I talked to there suggested that if you fertilize them as soon as they finish blooming, they have a better chance of getting strong enough for a second bloom.

Did they say what they were using for fertilizer?

Los Alamos, NM(Zone 5a)

They were using a very high phosphate fertilizer -- Bloom Booster by Scott's Miracle Gro was one. There is another one with even higher phosphate numbers. You don't want a lot of nitrogen, just a lot of phosphorus.

Thanks. I'll try that.
