baja220, I noticed that all of your vines are on chain link fence, how far apart to you plant them, and is the fence a 4' or taller?
I have a fence around my yard and I would like to plant my clematis on it here and there. I will have to grow them in pots for a while, they are from the co-op and are pretty small. End of summer I will find a spot. So any help on location is appreciated.
Thanks
Dan
Yea Dan, all but the top 2 I have in this post are on my chain link fence. I have 8 growing around my back porch and 4 growing around my front porch also. I'd say you could plant them 2 feet apart. My fence is 4' tall and some of these are goin higher than that so I'm making notes so next spring I'll put a tall trellis behind the ones growing over the fence.

Just gorgeous! Your clematis choices are fantastic...love the colours!
baja220, I just planted Ruutel this week. How tall/wide does yours get? I planted mine on a pillar with Marmori. How old is your Ruutel? DM
Dig, my Ruutel is only in it's second year and it was way tiny when I got it. I cut it back after I took that pic so it can grow more vines.
