I posted this picture on the ID thread. These were dug (with permission) from the yard of a house that is scheduled for demolition. I believe they are amaryllis though I've never had one. There are about 25 of them. Never having grown them before I was wondering what the best method is. They have been in the yard next door but I've never seen them bloom. The property owner told me that he thought they were "some kind of red flower".
What to do with them??
Plant them!
Tom
Plant and fertilize them.
Sun, part sun, shade?????
Full Sun!
Thanks! You saved them from being planted in the wrong location. Will put them out this afternoon.
don't plant too deep or they may never bloom!!!--GOOD FOR YOU for saving them!!
